The Paint Wizard

Growing up in a large family in Ottawa, I had to go out and start working at the age of 12 to help provide for my mother and nine siblings. At the time, I had three jobs. I would knock on doors and ask people if they needed their grass cut, or in the winter, shovel their driveways for two dollars. I also had a paper route, and I worked weekends at a corner store, cleaning and stocking shelves, where my pay was the fruit and vegetables that were going to be thrown out.

I started playing hockey at five years old and continued until I turned 60. I played four years of junior hockey and two years of semi-professional hockey in the Quebec Senior Hockey A League. In 1981, I scored seven goals in one game and still hold the unbeaten record.

In 1981, I decided to turn my passion for hockey into starting my own painting and landscaping business in Ottawa. I read hundreds of painting and landscaping books to immerse myself in these industries and become an expert at what I do. I get satisfaction from a beautiful job and happy customers.

I have always had a passion for everything I take on, giving 102 percent to every project. To help homeowners make the right decisions when hiring a painting contractor, I wrote The Homeowner’s Painting Guide: Save Money and Avoid Stress. I was featured in three professional painting magazines throughout North America.

I have always been on the lookout for ways to make painting easier and safer. Around 2007, I came up with an idea for a paintbrush extender that would be better than the wing-nut extenders currently on the market. I developed a prototype for the Gooseneck Flexible Paintbrush Extender, which is now sold worldwide on Amazon, Home Depot, Rona, Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and other painting and hardware stores.

I have always been a positive and outgoing person, and I believe that this translates into happy and satisfied customers.
